TESTIMONIAL: I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and friendliness at class even if your learning ability is different to other students. Someone's always willing to help if you find it difficult to apply a particular technique.
The class is run by Tom Maslen and assistant instructor Steve Dunne. Together they create a friendly atmosphere for students to learn and develop. Tom's teaching of Wing Chun is informative, relaxed and very enjoyable. Tom & Steve offer the students different ways of how to apply Wing Chun techniques which I think is very important for expanding individual knowledge and ideas.
Since I started Wing Chun I feel more confident and relaxed and every week I always leave the class feeling that another piece of the jigsaw has fallen into place. The location is ideal for me because I live about 1 mile away from the hall and at £7 for a 2 hour lesson it is great value.
Tom and Steve create a great environment to learn in. To get the true benefits from your Wing Chun you must be willing to commit time and effort to your training and always apply the basic principles of Wing Chun.

TESTIMONIAL: The relaxed atmosphere of the class takes the pressure off learning. Typically broken down into warm-up, forms, applications and Chi Sau you come to know what to expect and can progress gradually. Unlike other classes, Tom's teaching doesn't always get caught up in repetitively drilling small details and he allows you an element of freedom. At £7 per lesson (pay as you go) you can't go wrong!

TESTIMONIAL: Friendly, relaxed atmosphere - everyone is happy to train with others and pass on any knowledge. Tom is very good at communicating and explaining moves, drills, positions etc. I have been able to focus better on my health and fitness since starting the classes and the location is easy to get to and is light and spacious.
Fee is superb - For the level of expertise and insight on offer, can't be beaten!
It's good to be studying Wing Chun again after such a long gap. This time round, I understand things better and am focussing on the details more, rather than gradings or belts. Tom teaches the art very well, explaining all aspects of the form and how/why they are applied.

TESTIMONIAL: It's a relaxed and informal approach where jeans and t-shirts are comfortable. For me, it's down-to-earth self defence, learning to relax, improve reactions, balance and posture. It's great that I can use my structure to work for me and I've discovered I don't need to be big to be strong!
We spend a lot of time on the basics as well as different techniques each week, so there's never a dull moment. Everyone works at their own pace and Tom always has time to help. He'll discuss his experiences and demonstrate both simple and advanced material, but he'll always keep it realistic. I've learned from the advanced guys as well as shared with other beginners and it's given me extra confidence with something to focus on in the evenings! For classes, Tom operates a flexible, drop-in-when-you-can arrangement and I'm always looking forward to my next visit.

TESTIMONIAL: The first thing I noticed about the class was the relaxed atmosphere. This made me want to come back and soon I started walking away from every class feeling a real development in my forms and technique. I am still continually learning new moves everytime I go, it just doesn't get boring!

TESTIMONIAL: This is a great class, small and friendly with a good mix of beginners to more advanced and experienced students. Tom runs a relaxed yet hard working class with everyone willing to help out, which is good for me because I don't always get the moves first time.
The warm-up is developing my core strength in preparation for the Wing Chun which is a fascinating Martial Art and I greatly look forward to understanding more of the mechanics and how it works.
